Frozen experiments with ice.

Since we're completely obsessed by the movie Frozen at the moment, I thought I'd use the opportunity to introduce some science of water. We're looking at ice, how water freezes, how ice melts and the effects of salt. Fun homeschooling! Particularly amusing for me to watch the kids build ice igloos in the tropical sun...

Fun at the Jacob Ballas children's garden

Nature appreciation for homeschool this morning. So much fun to have all three kids together.

Bird Park time

Early morning book corner time

Songs of the sea

Happy first birthday Brynn

What a great day! Cool presents, pancakes for breakfast, a walk to the park, a long sleep, a long swim, playdate with old friends and Nutella cheesecake. What more could a one year old ask for?

Easter crafting

Bunny ear tiaras and golgotha models.

First day of homeschool

Today we start home schooling in ernest, both girls are now enrolled in the school of mum. Let the fun begin! As you may notice, I have made a rule that clothes must be worn at school, a bit of a change from the normal mdc (minimum dress code) of undies - ah the joys of living in the tropics.

Loving the school holidays

Today we have managed a trip to port of lost wonder (pirate themed water play place), and I've planned home schooling for next week. Now we're chilling by the pool.

Hamster

Holding Sophie's hamster.

Homemade horses

Inspired by a book she read, Pippa has instigated a horse making and riding activity with Tasha. I love how these two play together.

Easter egg painting time

After last year's slightly disastrous egg boiling and dying. This year I've gone for the egg blowing tactic. They look better already!

Homeschool nature hike

We met with a group of homeschoolers to study leaves on the canopy walk along the southern ridges. Beautiful sunny day, much fun was had by all and we all made some new friends.

Holiday time

A quick trip to Ya kun kaya toast before we go grocery shopping. Both the girls are dressed as pirates having been inspired by a book that Pippa read yesterday.

All ready

Ready for Paul's annual 'Mafia' birthday party.

Voluntary home schooling on a rainy Saturday morning

Having just organised the study into my new home schooling room, the girls decided they wanted to have a go!

Last day at school for Pippa

Last day of term and we're sending in a little home made chocolate cake. Can't quite believe that this is the start of homeschooling!

At Clementiwoods park

Break time today and we are taking a little walk to the park. Tasha picked up basic addition so well I thought she'd done it before but she says not. Here's our attempt at a selfie on the rocker at the playground.

Lou is here!

Today we've had croissants at the beach, seen gardens by the Bay and marina barrage. And it's not yet midday.
